Yes. WSIB covers physiotherapy, chiropractic, for Ontario workers injured on the job. Treatment is provided under a standard 8-week program of care. You pay nothing, we bill WSIB directly.
How do I start WSIB treatment after a workplace injury?
Report your injury to your employer and file a WSIB claim (Form 6). Then contact a WSIB-approved clinic with your claim number. Treatment can begin while your claim is being processed.
How long does WSIB cover treatment?
Most acute WSIB claims receive an initial 8-week Standard Program of Care. If full recovery has not been achieved, extended coverage may be authorized based on your clinical progress reports. Complex injuries, surgical cases, and cumulative-trauma claims often qualify for extended benefits.
Is chiropractic covered by WSIB in Ontario?
Yes. Chiropractic is covered by WSIB for eligible workplace injuries. We bill WSIB directly. Particularly effective for spinal and joint injuries common in occupational settings, including lumbar facet dysfunction and cervical strain.
Can I receive WSIB and other insurance at the same time?

“What if my claim is initially denied?”
Many initially denied claims are approved on appeal. Continue documenting your injury, see your doctor, and consider a free consultation with the Office of the Worker Adviser. We can help you build the clinical file that supports your appeal.
“My employer wants me back at full duties but I am not ready. What do I do?”
Your practitioner’s FAF report defines what you can safely do. Your employer has to offer modified duties within your restrictions or accept that you are not ready. If they push you to do work outside your restrictions, contact WSIB directly. We document everything.
“Can I see other practitioners while on WSIB?”
Yes. WSIB covers physiotherapy, chiropractic, massage therapy, where clinically indicated. You can see multiple providers under one coordinated plan. We coordinate care so the disciplines complement each other.
“How long can I be on WSIB?”
The standard initial program is 8 weeks. Complex cases (surgical, neurological, cumulative trauma) qualify for extended coverage based on your clinical progress reports.
